A Great Beach Jul 25, 1996
A beach I always go to when I'm on Oahu is the beach at Bellows Air Force Station. In the past, you had to have a military ID to get on the beach, which most of my family members have. The last time I was in Hawaii, however, I heard that you no longer need one. So, if you're able to, I would recommend going to this beach. It is very beautiful, and generally not crowded, unless it's a holiday weekend. The waves are not too rough. It's a great spot for snorkeling, boogie boarding and camping. I camped there for 3 weeks one summer. It was so amazing to wake up on the beach.

One warning I can give you, Portugese man-of-wars (a type of jellyfish) kind of "invade" the beach around the full moon. If you see signs warning of them, do not go in the water! I was stung 5 times in one month due to my ignorance. It's very painful, and I had a few allergic reactions. Just make sure you pay attention. Otherwise, the beach is great!
