Bellini Grande Reviews
Jazz, drinks and dancing!!! Dec 27, 2008
Bellini Grande, inspired from the successful Bellini Room that used to serve a mixture of 'live' swing, big band and jazz music at St James Power Station, has now moved to the former premises of Crazy Horse at Clarke Quay.
Jazz lovers will enjoy the atmosphere of a large stage set with a 11-piece jazz band and dancers. A made-for-caberet set and tiered seatings with ample lounge and tall-table seating arrangements provide good views and ambience to enjoy the performances.
Before the show, a 4-piece jazz group provide humour and light musical entertainment with the opportunity for song dedications. Before 9pm, admission is free with happy hour meaning drinks at half price!!! Great deal and good idea to order before 9pm.
By 9pm, a DJ entertains with oldies, 80s remix. First set starts around 10pm, second set around midnight and third set at around 2am. In between sets, the DJ provides disco mix and the dance floor is open to public, but often we'll find people dancing to the live music.
The 11-piece jazz band performs a variety of music. Dancing to the tunes are the talented dancers performing modern, latin and also caberet dance styles. Be seduced by nostalgia as you are likely to sing to the tunes of familiar melody from your generations.
Overall, the music appeals to an array of genres from 70s to 90s and divas to latin!
Drinks are a little expensive, but the pre-9pm happy hour (half price) makes up for this. Specialty is the mojitos!
