Bellevue Hotel Amsterdam

The Bellevue hotel in Amsterdam is literally located just steps from the central train station so everything is within walking distance from the hotel.

The interior is very clean and modern. Our room sported a flat panel TV, comfy bed, pristine bathroom (with stand up shower)and decor that was artsy and modern- it kind of freaked me out a little but I am not going to explain why. ;)

Our room was rather small but only cost us about 80 euro a night. Besides, how much time does anyone spend in their hotel room in Amsterdam anyway? Unfortunately, for us we spent a great deal of our time there but again, I am not going to explain why. ;)

Great location, great price, staff was nice...recommended. This place was quite nice.

Stayed here in Summer 2007 for 5 days while in the 'Dam. At the time it was one of the most affordable hotel options. I loved it because once you get off the train coming in from Schipol Airport, you get to Bellevue within minutes by foot. This also comes in handy when you're headed back to the airport or for day trips around Amsterdam.

The staff is super friendly and reception is open 24 hours a day. It's safe because after midnight they keep the door locked and dont let just anyone in, you need to show or use your key to get into the building, and whoever is sitting there always takes a look.

Our package came with free breakfast at the little restaurant downstairs which was delicious and helped us start the day right all the time. Here's where you sort of lose out: the rooms are not spacious at all. Bigger than in UK but still sort of small. Everything was clean to make up for it, though, and the rooms felt very modern, along with an LCD screen. On a sour note, I did not appreciate the hardcore gay porn that comes on basic cable after midnight.

Stayed here for Queen's Day Eve in April, 2008. Had a single room that still cost a bit, but the location is great, basically right across the street from Central Station. Room did not include breakfast, but plenty of nearby options...and it's Amsterdam...who wakes up in time for it anyway. The room was a little small, with no view (tiny courtyard) but the bed was quite comfortable. Nice boutique-type hotel in a nice location. The staff was very helpful, even considering the fact that it was queen's day the next day.
