Belgrade Overview

Belgrade is a fast growing town of about 7800 (up 36% since 2000) located at the intersection of Interstate 90 (Exit 298) and Montana Highway 85 in Gallatin County in Southwest Montana. Belgrade is part of the Bozeman Micropolitan Statistical Area. Belgrade has almost 10% more women than men and the average age of the populace is below the state average. Belgrade was established by Thomas B. Quaw in July 1881 as a site along the Northern Pacific Railroad. He named the town Belgrade after the capital of Serbia in honor of several Serbian investors in the railroad. The town was incorporated in 1906.
