Belgian beer cafe

Belgian beer cafe Utrecht Reviews
Cafe in special location Dec 18, 2009
The Belgian beer cafe Olivier is what the title Say's an Belgian concept for going out for eating and drinking. In Holland they have two locations, one in Leiden and one in Utrecht. The locations of these cafe's are very special. The one in Leiden is located in a former St. Elisabeth hospital at the Hooigracht in Leiden.
The one in Utrecht is located in a former church the Maria minor. The Maria minor is a hide Church, so from the outside it looks like all the surrounding buildings, but from the in site it's complete with organ. The location i visited was the one in Utrecht, and it's a great experience to enter a location like this. You don't expect this if you approach the cafe. Insite it's a mix of a restaurant and a bar, it's a little bit noisy because of the acoustic but you will get used of it. You can choose out of 10 types of beer, with there own specialty, i lost counting when i saw the beer map. Eating is also very nice. You can choose for typical Belgian specialties like the Gentse waterzooi. The cafe is most visited by the local students. If you going to Utrecht, it's in the old center of the city. So a great location in a beautiful city. If you arriving by car,TIP park the car at the transferium Westraven close to the highway A12 and take the tram into the city. Every 7 minutes the tram will take you to the center within 15 minutes and park the car and use the tram will cost you 4 euros for max 5 persons. For more info go to www.cafe-olivier.be. Enjoy your stay. ![]()
