Minsk is the city where I lived for 5 years & never stopped admiring it. Always clean & green it attracts the attention as a very welcoming & friendly place. And I’m sure, you won’t stay indifferent towards the pleasant smiles of its citizens.

In 2000 I started to travel around the EurAzian continent. Not in one vacation ofcourse, there is work waiting for me at home, but in leg of 6 weeks. Every journey is about 3000 km long.

My "Estonia" visa, which got me around the three Baltic countries, also got me into Kaliningrad (via Lithuania), Belarus (via Lithuania) and even back into Russia itself (via Belarus). Apparently, the borders were seldom or not enforced in late 1992.
After a brief stay here, walking around the rather uninteresting town in fresh snowfall, I decided to head down to Southern Russia. Maybe see Baku. It was a terrible mistake for a number of reasons, but one ultimate...
