Peace and quiet in the middle of town Jul 25, 2009 This courtyard was once set up for single women who wanted to spend their lives doing good things like taking care of the sick without having to become a nun. It still is a place of peace and quiet and only inhabited by women. Jul 25, 2009 Als eerste nam ik de tram naar het Spui waar ik uitstapte om naar het Begijnhof te gaan. Iedere keer als ik hier ben (hier ben ik namelijk wel al vaker geweest) valt het me op dat zodra je in dit hofje bent je meteen alle geluiden van de stad niet meer hoort. Echt een oase van rust. Jul 19, 2007 After return the bikes, we walk around for some hours, don´t forget to visit the Begijnhof (At Spui). If you consider, you can let your bags at Amsterdam Centraal "Left luggage" Dpt., but probably you will need assistance because the computer locks are hard to manage (Or I am quite stupid). I prefer to visit Amsterdam in winter, there are less… I´ll be back
