A highlight of Cheshire Oct 21, 2013
Outside of Chester itself, Beeston Castle is probably the best draw in Cheshire.

Situated atop a hill, the lower than average entry fee and steepish hill climb are rewarded by some decent castle ruins and spectacular views. On a good day you can see up to eight counties, including the mountain ranges of North Wales and the ridges of the Pennines. Liverpool can also be spotted on the horizon, whereas up closer are the rolling fields of Cheshire itself and Peckforton Castle on an adjacent hillside, which is not open to the public.

For those who love walking, the castle is situated in pleasant surrounds, with plenty of woodland to roam around and explore.
