Beestenmarkt Delft Reviews
Beer in Delft Jul 03, 2012
The 'Beestenmarkt' could be translated to something as 'animal market', a place where in the old days the life-stock were traded. Today there is little that reminds you of this, except for the large statue of a cow. The square is one of the main hot-spots of Delft, if you are looking for a night out.
The place has a lot of cafes. One of the biggest is Belvedere. Around 11 o'clock it is transformed into an dancing. The square is filled with chairs and tables, so there is lot of capacity, but any day with good weather will make this a busy place. Especially when you are with a group it van be hard to find a table.
There are about 10 different cafes here, so if it is a cafe you are looking for, this might just be the place. There is also a restaurant, the 'Billy de Beer' of which there has been written a separate review by TB siddharthseth.
During winter, the square is usualy transformed into an ice skating track.
