This Beer Works Jul 15, 2009
Located right across the street from Fenway Park (near gate A), this brewery has an excellent location. This is a very traditional American bar that proved to be unique as it offers a whole slew of different beers. There were well over 20 different brews to try. They had special brews that are offered only at that time or only during certain seasons. The bartenders were really accommodating to the typical visitor. He passed us several samples of any beer we even half considered. There was such a range to choose from; you would not be unsatisfied with these choices no matter who you were. The Watermelon Ale was one of their current seasonal beers available (mid-July). This was an incredibly unique flavored beer. It comes served with a wedge of watermelon speared on the edge of the glass. If you aren't a big beer drinker - you'll need to try this Watermelon Ale as it will be different from anything you've ever attempted to drink before. We only tried their nachos for an appetizer, but they were exceptional and served with unlimited opportunities to reheat more cheese on top, additional sour cream and salsa. The atmosphere of the bar was happy, open, friendly, entertaining, and the lighting made the bar very cozy.
