aka Mushing Feb 14, 2009
To commerate our 3rd year in the North, my bf and I went dog mushing. We've had extreme freezing temps the previous years (-30s Celcius and below for consecutive winter months) and it's never fun to be outside longer than 5 minutes when it's THAT cold. It was sunny and only -7 the day we went with no windchill, making it a perfect day!

There are a few tour companies that offer this activity here in Yellowknife but we chose Beck's for their local reputation. We did the "Northern Adventure Outdoor Tour" for $80 per person which lasted for about 2 hours. We drove our own 2-person sled through a few frozen lakes, had a pit stop at Beck's cabin for some hot drinks and went snowmobiling before heading back.

It was so fun I'm tempted to try it with my boston terrier hehe. He already likes to pull me on my office chair at home :P

For more photos, see my blog as I can only upload 10 pictures.

Wow, pretty cool! I'd try it if there was a way to do it in a warm location...
