Beavertail Hill State Park Missoula Reviews

Beautiful campground, but trains ruin it Jul 23, 2012
Beavertail Hill has huge sites for tents and RVs, including two teepees that you can rent. No need to find the camp host to buy firewood. They have an automated system that dispenses the bundle of wood after payment ($4/bundle, quarters only - but there is a change machine right beside it).

There's a nature trail that surrounds the park and takes about an hour to walk. There are lots of rabbits and chipmunks to amuse you, too.

The biggest drawback about this state park is the proximity to the train tracks. While one might be able to tune out the train when sleeping, it's impossible to tune out the blaring whistle. There were 15 trains the night I camped there, so I got little sleep.
