Beas Kund Manali Reviews
Beas Kund - the origin of River Beas Jul 16, 2011
Delhi/Chandigarh to Manali to Solang Nala, then on to Dhundhi. From Dhundhi the beautiful walk to Beas Kund starts. Take it easy if you aren't acclimatised, as the altitude increases sharply! You'll hit a track ascending towards the Beas Kund glacier which is onto the left as you climb, whereas the Beas Kund itself is on to the right. You'll be crossing a rock/boulder-strewn area before you hit some green slopes on the way to Beas Kund.
See if you can find a map in Manali itself - that'll be helpful, in addition to Google Earth images if you can locate Beas Kund (I'll be jotting down the lat/long link on Wikimapia below - hope that helps).
Take food along, water in the summer shouldn't be problem. Also take a tent, a stove, some ready-to-eat food along - if you plan to stay a couple of days or climb in that area, you'll need more than just the Maggi, cashewnuts and Gatorade! ;)
