Bear and Staff London Reviews
Good for the price and location! Jul 03, 2008
This pub was pretty enjoyable. We went there before going to see 'Spamalot' on a Wednesday evening, and the downstairs was moderately full. However, since we wanted a bit of food we were shown upstairs to a cozy little dining area. Service was great! Food was decently priced (£3.50 for apps. We had the sausage sharer which was a nice snack to tide us over because we were having dinner after the show) as were the drinks (£3.50 for a Pimms/lemonade, £2-something for a London Pride). Some traditional ales on tap, a pretty good selection.
This is a Nicholson pub but don't let the chain scare you away; the corporate-ness is only visible in the menu and the fact that service was regular and the area was clean. :) I would definitely return, possibly for dinner next time as there were quite a few options that looked pretty yummy!
You'd be hard pressed to find a good place like this for the price in theatre-land!
