Cook Street Village Establishment May 29, 2014
The Beagle Pub in the nice but overrated Cook Street Village neighborhood of Victoria is a large neighborhood pub that also serves really good local food. The bar is large and there are TV's everywhere, so it looks like a large version of what you would find in England or any town with an Anglo-Celtic population. I love cider, and this being Canada eh, of course they had some. The dinner was quite the surprise. I had intended to eat near Victoria Harbor, but it was a bit of a walk back and I was starving so I stepped in this pub. The menu had some nice dishes and I opted for Halibut with asparagus and potatoes. It was very light and tasty! Perfect with a cider. I was surprised at the quality of food here. But I guess I shouldn't have been as Cook Street Village seems to be about quality local goods.
