Beaches of South West Australia
Beaches of South West Australia Reviews
Beaches of South West Australia Jan 26, 2009
Australia is well known for its sunshine and beaches. Im just going to review a couple along the South West of Australia and post some pics to show what this part of the country has to offer.
The first area I'll write about is Dunsborough. I just recently took a day trip down there, and discovered out of all the beaches I've been to, from South of France to Greece, Oz really does have some of the best.
Dunsborough is a beautiful little beachside town. With boutiques, cafes, restaraunts, pubs and trendy bars, its a great place to holiday. The beaches are the main attraction however. From 'Duns', follow Caves Road and there are many turn offs on your right that will take you to some beautiful spots. Eagle Bay, Bunker Bay, Meelup Beach, Smiths Beach, Quindalup beach are all along here and sometimes if you turn down a beaten track you can find a little piece of heaven to yourself. Fairly unlikely from Jan - March though!
I recommend visiting before christmas though if you are keen for a good swim. Unfortunately the warmth and protection offered by these waters draws in the stingers which can be pretty bloody painful! However these beaches are perfect for picnics, water sports, boating etc.
