Bayview Gardens Hotel and Viewpoint

This is a lovely hotel with great views from every room. What mattered most to me was a little comfort and luxury following days using sea water to wash in no other option bu squat toilets! This hotel is clean and comfy and absolute bliss!
For those less bothered about 'proper' loos and large, walk in showers, air con etc. I would still recommend the hotel. The team running this hotel are so friendly, I almost felt like I was coming home! The breakfast was bliss, served on our won personal veranda overlooking the beautiful bay of Labuan Bajo.. All this for such a great price. we will definitely go back!

The Bayview Gardens Hotel and Viewpoint is owned and operated by a Dutch/Indonesian couple. Its located on a hillside in front of the main port of Labuan Bajo, so has spectacular 180 degree views of the harbor and Komodo National Park in the distance.

More a guest house than hotel, the rooms are immaculate and well kept. Its nothing like an international hotel, but we really enjoyed the open air living room with a stunning ocean view. The bedroom is air-conditioned and a nice retreat.

Upon check in, a thermos of hot water and a variety of coffees are delivered in a basket with some local peanuts.

Adrien, the owner, is very kind and helpful. He helps make arrangement for dinner, which can be delivered from any of Labuan Bajo’s few restaurants.
Breakfast is ordered the day before on a white board near the entrance and is delivered to the guest room exactly when requested. The continental breakfast is delicious. The hotel also offers an Indonesia breakfast as well.

The main strip of Labuan Bajo is a 10 minute walk down a hill. Getting back up the hill can be sweaty, so its best to take a bemo for about 1-2,000 rp, which stops right at the hotel entrance.

We would definitely stay at The Bayview Gardens Hotel and Viewpoint again, and highly recommend it for the gracious hospitality of the owner and his family, the welcoming spirit we received, and the incredible view of Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park.
