Bayfest North Beach Reviews
Small Town Festival on the Water Aug 23, 2009
Every year in August the town of North Beach hosts Bayfest, a festival that runs alongside the town's boardwalk. This year the festival celebrated its 25th appearance.
Admission is free, just walk on in. I'm not sure if there is a parking fee since I never park right next to the festival. There is plenty of parking in the area if you are willing to walk a little extra.
Vendors selling a variety of goods are the main attraction. Jewelry tents are the most prominent. Photographers and artists are the next largest category. Clothing also appeared several times.
The normal variety of festival food is available. Most food vendors are located in the middle of the strip although a few appear at the ends as well. If you're looking for food a bit more related to the theme of Bayfest, a shrimp and crab meal is availabe at the end of the pier. Additionally, at least three eateries either on the street or the next one over are also open.
Children will enjoy the small rides area, face painting, and puppet shows.
Two music venues provide entertainment.
I went by myself and only spent about an hour perusing the booths but it was a nice way to get out the house for a little bit.
EDIT: 2010 Bay Fest was cancelled due to funding issues.
