Bavarian Grill Dallas Reviews
Authentic German Food in Dallas Jul 24, 2011
Bavarian Grill, the winner of numerous local and national awards, is the place you can call your home away from home. Andrea, the bar wench, will make you feel right at home and can help you navigate the way to your new favorite brew. (Currently I'm a fan of the Erdinger Pikantus)
This authentic German restaurant has earned the highest scoring from the Zagat survey as the best German restaurante for the last six years. The decor is made up of numerous flags and banners as well as various beer advertisements. If you are a regular and keep track of your beer-drinking explorations, you can complete the 30-beer card and receive an authentic monogrammed beer stein. Many of the steins live on the walls as the regulars plan to work on their next mug. Waiters and waitresses are dressed in authentic garb and many speak the language (helpful when ordering). The restaurant ownter, Juergen, is regularly among his guests either pouring another round or just checking to see that everyone is happy.
A favorite event at Bavarian Grill is the singing of the birthday song. Tunned (or out-of-tune, by request) cowbells are brought to your table and everyone joins in to serenade you on your special day. This is often accompanied by one of the regular polka bands playing throughout the week (authentic lederhosen included). Or you can request "Margaritaville" once the birthday celebration has ended. Manfred, my clarinet buddy, he's your guy.
Oh, and come early to check out the gift shoppe!
