Bavaria Vacation Guide

Freistaat Bayern or Bavaria is located in the south east corner of Germany. It's the largest state in Germany and the capitol is Munich or München. It shares international borders with Austria in the south and the Czech Republic in the east as well as with Switzerland (across Lake Constance or Bodensee).
Neighboring states within Germany are Baden-Württemberg, Hessen, Thuringia(Thuringen) and Saxony (Sachsen). The biggest rivers that flow through the state are the Danube(Donau) and the Main, while the Rhine(Rhein)forms part of the southwest border of the state. The Bavarian Alps define the border with Austria, and within the range is the highest peak in Germany, the Zugspitze (2,962 m or 9,717 ft).
The major cities in Bavaria are Munich (München), Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Augsburg, Würzburg, Regensburg, Ingolstadt, Fürth and Erlangen.
Bavaria has a very good economy. Companies like BMW, Audi, Siemens, Adidas and Puma call it home.
Lederhosen, Dirndl, beer masses, weisswurst, beer gardens and Oktoberfest also are great part of Bavarian tradition.
There are also many dialects spoken in here. Schwabisch, Frankisch and Pfalzisch just to name a few.
Bavarian are very proud of their traditions and their language and very hospitable and friendly people!

The walk way had beams braced to the mountain that didn't seem strong enough to hold a line of people, …
