Batu Sangkar Vacation Guide
Batusangkar is located in Tanah Datar regency, 41 km from Bukittinggi, West Sumatera.
It has many places to see, such as:
1. Anai Valley.
The main road from Padang to Bukittingi passes through this protected nature reserve. It has an impressive scenic and densely jungled. There is also a beautiful water fall that is located exactly at the edge of the main road. It throws its misty spray of water on the road as it crosses the gorge.
2. Tabek Patah
A beautiful panoramic view, 16 km from the city of Batusangkar. There is a traditional coffee factory which also produces various kinds of snacks: papaya candy, banana candy, dried pineapples, dried jackfruit and so on.
3. Pandai Sikek
It is a village, around 15 minutes from Anai Valley, very wellknown in producing Kain Songket, a traditional cloth made by weavers. The village is also famous for its wood carvings and embroidery products. Don't miss to take a visit to this village if you like to shop handmade souvenirs and gifts from local people.
