Batu Karas Overview

Batu Karas is a beautiful, quiet fishing village located on the south coast of West Java. It is in a protected cove with a black sand swimming beach and provides some opportunities for surfing, particularly suited to beginners.
Accommadation ranges from basic and very cheap to one small hotel with A/C and hot showers. Three cafes on the beach provide excellent local food {plenty of seafood of course!!} and VERY cold drinks.
Some organized tours of local areas are easy to arrange and many of the local young people speak English quite well.
Services such as banking and interread morenet are available a short motorbike ride away {1 hour} in Pangandaran.
A relaxing, quiet {except Saturday nights!!} Place to rest, recuperate and get some real culture with no tourist hype.
