Seine River Water Taxi Jan 09, 2015
When you are in Paris and plan to cover all of the sights, the metro is a quick, easy and cheap method in getting around the city. However, if you are looking for a change, or cruising the Seine is on your "to-do" list, the Batobus is a nice alternative. There are several tourist boat companies, many of which serve meals, but Batobus is the economical choice if all you need is a ride from Point "A" to Point "B". They sell daily tickets but it is a better value to buy a 2-day, and your "hop-ons" and "hop-offs" are unlimited. The boat operates in a counterclockwise manner and there are about 8 stops along the way, 4 on the south bank and 4 on the north, most notably, the Eiffel Tour, Louvre and Notre Dame. Boats run constantly with about a 15-20 minute gap between each boat at any given station in case you miss one. They are quite large with plenty of seating. I thought this was a nice way to visit the sites in the far east of the city such as Notre Dame.
