Bathurst is a friendly town in rural NSW located three hours drive West of Sydney (¬200km). The town features a very well known Australia racing track called Mount Panorama, a university famous for media studies (TV personality Andrew Denton studied there), several schools, spectacular caves nearby, an aquatic centre, train station, museums and more.

Bathurst is well accessed by the Great Western Highway, the train line and by two aerodromes. The next major town heading west is the town of Orange.

Many Australians regard the town of Bathurst as being synonymous with motor racing. Each year in October Bathurst hosts a very large motor racing event which most Australians know of.
