Worth checking out, after seeing the Roman Baths Apr 20, 2015
Located in the center of town, the Bath Abbey is that tall building that is next to the Roman Baths. Dating back to the 7th century, this Anglican Church is worth checking out if in the area.

First, definitely look at the exterior, where you can see angels climbing on a ladder. A ladder to heaven? I don’t know for sure, but seeing that art is really nice.

Admission is free, but a donation of £2.50 is expected but not required. I would just donate £1, as you can see this place really quickly.

The stained-glass windows and the architecture of the abbey are nice to look. Plus in the choir area, seeing the statues of angels in different poses above it. There are also the memorials to the wars that Britain has been involved in, the Book of Remembrance, and tombs to see. Plus this place is a good place to rest your sore feet, in a quiet environment.

A nice place to check out, but not really a must-see. I would say, check it out, if still have time, AFTER seeing the Roman Baths.

Stunning Building Jun 03, 2013
The Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, although normally referred to as Bath Abbey, is a stunning church right in the centre of Bath. The church that sits there now is not actually the original. It's actually been rebuilt a few times over the centuries.

It's free to enter the church although they do ask for a donation of £2.50. I chose to just admire the building from the outside. I'm not a religious person so didn't feel the need to go inside.

You can't really visit Bath without walking past the Abbey but it is worth taking a few moments to enjoy the architecture. If you look carefully at the front you can notice the angels using the stairs to heaven. I personally preferred the ones coming down as they were coming down the ladder head first! Rather amusing.
