It was originally planned to be a kind of thanks giving, my brother & I decided to commerate our birthdays this way. But when the family heard, we ended up with a bunch of thanks giving & a total of 8 goats to scarifice. It varied from thanks for our blessings to a prayer for the dead. I was happy that we managed to do this trip.

This was our most ambitious family trip ever...4 generations to an Indonesian island 45 minutes away from Singapore. Now getting schedules for 15 working adults, 2 school going kids & a 2 year old was not easy. My poor sister is a housewife, yet she was like a travel agent for 2 weeks..LOL!..I felt for her being a former travel agent, especially when your passengers are not sure whether they were coming or going....:)-

I didnt enjoy the place. It was my 2nd time to get there and even the first one wasn't enjoyable. We stayed in Harris Resort. My sister spoiled my weekend. She didnt want me to go on cable ski, karting and some other activities. We spent the night in a bar. I sang there. What i really like most is the body spa near Nagoya mall. Man, it was so relaxing! Im planning to go back there just to have a massage...

Most of us travelling to see new and beautifull place or a change of scenery and perhaps to experience a different culture and history. Thailand,specially bangkok and pattaya is a beatifull places.

So, we've finally step foot in Indonesia, though Batam wasn't exactly the place we wanted to find ourselves at . . .
Had NO intention of finding ourselves stuck on this island, but we really had no choice!! And what a dump!! Quite the sudden change from the cleanliness and order of Singapore, for sure!!!
In any case, like I've already said, we had no plans of getting stuck here, but due to travel restrictions, we had no choice!!
