Batad Vacation Guide
A small district in the highland province of Banaue, Batad is one of the Philippines' UNESCO World Heritage Sites, boasting of the exquisite ampitheater-like rice terraces that crawl up to the mountaintops. Very well-preserved, these terraces were built over 2,000 years ago together with an irrigation system that works until today. They have also far outlasted the famous Ifugao Rice Terraces that have been largely neglected due to the introduction of other commercial opportunities.
