Bat Yaar Ranch Safed Reviews
Eat a steak, Ride a horse Nov 08, 2016
The long and unforgettable drive through the evergreen Biriya Forest will take you to Bat Yaar Ranch, a place where you can eat a decent piece of beef.
The restaurant is situated in a large wooden building, 800 meters above sea level, with a beautiful view over Galilee and mountains of Lebanon (or may be Syria..i’m not sure).
It is a ranch, with stables and horse riding, and the restaurant is decorated like a saloon (even the toilets resemble a stable) with a wild-west-Israel-style unique atmosphere. The food is cooked over a coal grill. Outside, (very cool) private dining wagons are available. Beer menu is extensive. For wine lovers there is a nice variety of Israeli wines (the Gamla Syrah is highly recommended).
I was here with my Mom, after a wonderful hiking adventure in Wadi Amud. For starters we had an excellent grilled eggplant (grilled over an open flame, covered with tomato salsa, garlic and Tahini), a mix of sweet and spicy pickles, and a veal carpaccio (blazed with balsamic vinegar, dried blueberries, and parmesan chips). Then we shared a T-bone steak, which was perfect!
The prices are a bit high, but the place is cozy (they have fireplace in winter), the meat is good, the wine taste like raspberries & French oak, and hey - you can take a horse trip in a magical forest ;)
