Basilica Block Party Minneapolis Reviews
Basilica Block Party Jul 12, 2009
The Basilica Block Party sponsored by local radio station Cities 97 is a great summer event filled with music for the masses. This event has been a main summer event in the Twin Cities for the past 15 years. It is held on the block surrounding the Basilica of Saint Mary's on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota for three days in July. Like many other events, food and beverages (pop, beer, water, etc.) are sold based on a ticket system. A wrist band was needed to drink alcohol. I'm not sure if there was a cost for the wrist band or not, but typically there is. Food and beverage tickets cost $1 per ticket. Here are the prices for the food I ate or at least remembered the cost...
- Water = 2 tickets
- Pop = 2 tickets
- Lemonade = 2 tickets
- Hamburger = 4 tickets
- Cheeseburgers = 6 tickets
- Cheese Curds = 5 tickets
Some of the food I didn't have or didn't remember, but was available...
- Corn Dogs
- Chicken Sandwich
- Walleye On A Stick
And speaking of admission, the prices for admission to this year's (2009) block party on the first two days/nights (Friday and Saturday) were...
* $40.00 - Single-night tickets
* $70.00 - Two-night passes
* $150.00 - VIP packages (Starting at)
Sunday's admission was free, but food and beverage cost was still based on the ticket system. There is also an area for kids and families.
