Jan 21, 2008 Value: Location: Cleanliness: Amenities: Bed: Bathroom & Shower: NZ$26 per night for a bunk in shared dorm, plus a $20 key bond. Around the corner from Courtney Place with its multitude of bars, cafes and restaurants and a three minute walk from the nearby supermarket, the location of this hostel is superb. Inside it is clean and secure, with lockable storage for luggage under each bed, a (SKY) TV lounge, a communal kitchen and dining area, vending machines, a travel desk, internet access and wifi (provided by Global Gossip) and a bar in the basement. However, the facilities (kitchen, dining area and TV lounge) are far too small for a hostel of this size (which has seven floors of rooms) and it can be near impossible to cook or relax in the dining area at ‘peak’ times.
