Basalt Vacation Guide

Basalt is a little jewel of a western town located where the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork rivers meet. It's known for trout fishing as well as an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking and mountain biking trails. The downtown has a classic historic look.

It was originally formed as a railroad town and has evolved into a robust community for locals and tourists alike.

Bus transit in Basalt is provided by the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority.
