Like being in someone's home Oct 09, 2010
A bit hard to find, as there is no outside sign, to show that there is a hostel on that street. Probably the only way to know about this place, is coming upon it on sites, like Hostelbookers or Hostelworld. When reaching the address of the place, you have to push the right button to be buzzed in. After that, you go up some stairs, and find a door that leads to the Barocco Hostel. A little extra time will be needed, but worth it.

This place feels more like being in someone’s home, the place is a great place to stay. The staff is very helpful, and they will do the laundry for you. The rooms are very nice. A lounge to relax in, as well as a good kitchen.

The location is great, being away from the busy streets. Not too far from the Great Market Hall and the Danube, as well as a 24-hour grocery store. The closest Metro stop is Kalvin ter.

Some downsides include tight shower space and no internet access for those who don’t carry laptops, like myself. As mentioned earlier, the difficulty finding the place. And the room temperature may be an issue for some people.

But overall, the Barocco Hostel is a very nice place to stay at, and would stay here again in my next visit to Budapest, at the prices that cannot be beat.

(NOTE: I could only remember to take a photo of the entrance, and was not able to take ones of the room, either because there were always people there or I simply forgot)
