Barnes Museum Jul 19, 2013
Barnes Museum is definite must go for anyone who loves art and can respect the passion of the incredible man that collected that art. Dr. Barnes personally arranged his collection with incredible sense of beauty, balance and order. This was my first time to enter this new building (Philly government moved his collection from the original housing in very controversial way) and it seems that they did good job with following Dr. Barnes ways. Collection has great number of influential painters from the beginning of 20th century (such as Cézanne, Renoir, Van Gogh, Braque, Manet, Picasso, Chirico, Courbet, Matisse, Modigliani…) some African art pieces on the second floor and some furniture pieces from around the world. Place is very well organized, and there is cap for number of people that can roam the rooms in the same time. Rooms are small so they let only certain number of people to go in at the time, and you’ll get the time that you can enter printed on your ticket. Taking pictures inside the galleries is prohibited.
