Bariloche is a pretty big town in Argentina about 5 hours by bus from Puerto Montt. It is a majorly touristy town and is commonly known as one of Argentinas party towns for tourists. We stopped in Barilcohe twice, first time we stayed for one night before heading to El Bolson, and the second t…

Started my trip in my hometown Cordoba. Took a 10 hr bus to Mendoza, well known for its great variety of wine, specially Malbec; from there a 12 hr bus to Bariloche. Then flew to the Glaciers National Park in Calafate. Couldnt get an airline ticket to The Southern most city in the world, Ushuaia, so I took another bus for 18 hrs to get there. NOT RECOMENDED! From there, back to Calafate, back to Buenos Aires for a day to visit some friends and back to Cordoba.

This past fall I took a semester off of school to go live in Buenos Aires. I took language classes at Bridge Linguatec in the mornings, and volunteered teaching English at the Casa del Ninos in La Boca in the afternoons. I was living with an Argentine family for the first month, then got an apartment for the next two months. It was amazing! I also got to do a bit of travelling around Argentina and in Brasil as well.

Today we decided to go off the beaten track a bit (more) after a morning wake-up coffee in the one of the enormous chocolate shops. We wanted to go and see some caves about 30km outside of Bariloche called Cerro Leone which are on a private farm.
We arrived and were told in (very) broken Englis…

Today I had a good sleep ‘till 8.30. Like always, Jos was already awake, she was downstairs online. Nice relaxed day for our first day in Argentina. After a good breakfast we walked along the Nahuel Huapi Lake and took some pictures. We found a tourist office. You can do a lot of things here: &nb…

Bariloche sits on the edge of the enormous Lago Nahuel Huapi. There is a small community of Swiss settlers in the area which is presumably why there are so many restaurants offering fondue. If you want your picture taken with a St Bernard dog, this is the place to come. Away from the town…

Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay..... it is difficult to decide!! Every single country is beauty, but some are easier to travel around if infraestructure, communications, facilities and staff are up to expectations.
Sometimes travelling has some difficulties.... but for those easygoing and independent oriented tourists any inconvenient has an adventure and challenging side!!
South America is the right place to go!! Awesome nature, historical cities, warm people and safer than ever.
