We arrived to Athens about 8:30 or so in the morning I think it was. Somewhere around that time? I woke up just as we were coming into the port and everyone was gathering their stuff together. Right away we took the metro to the train station and caught the train to Parga I think it was to then catch another ferry. The train was fairly long, like 4 hours or so. It wasn’t too bad though, we killed the time by taking funny photos of each other and trying to see how many cookies we could eat i…

We got to Bari in the morning and had some time to kill until our train to Rome left so we just walked around for a bit. Simon had a frisbee so we played frisbee in a park for a while, which was really fun even though we both suck at it haha(no offence Lori). We heard from Simon of some of the stuff they did after we went to sleep the night before, including the making up of raps that they videotaped. We asked to see them, obviously, but Cam immediatly snapped 'No!', which made us even more i…

“We travelers are in very hard circumstances. If we say nothing but what has been said before us, we are dull and have observed nothing. If we tell anything new, we are laughed at as fabulous and romantic.”
- Lady Mary Wortley Montagu 1689-1762, British Society Figure, Letter Writer
Arriving in Bari, we haggled with the taxi driver over fare, we won- : ) and we got a good rate to get to the ferry. At the ferry it was obvious…

We spent the last hours of Dubrovnik looking around, wasting time, and waiting for our ferry. I love that city, but it smells like old eggs that have been soaking in sulfer. Gross. Our ferry to Bari left Dubrovnik at 11PM and Ev and I had no cabin and only had the deck of the ferry to sleep on like fools. We were fools. It was the worst night of my life. We slept on a box that holds life jackets. Yeah. Nice. I tossed and turned and knotted…

I started in Rio in November 2006, from there to British Coloumbia, Canada for 1 year. And after exploring the Canadian east coast for a bit, I'm leaving to Europe from Toronto.

Greece is my favorite place in the world so far. Italy and Turkey are both awesome, but I just fell in love with Greece. I can't wait to go back.

I woke up and finalized my packing, took a shower, and headed down to my first descent breakfast of the trip. I had bread, ham, cheese, egg whites, and cereal. After breakfast we loaded up the bus and headed to Pompei. We arrived in Pompei around 10:00am and took a tour of the ancient ruins. The tour included an old gladiator training center, an old ampitheatre, the baths, an example of a house, and the highlight an original sundial. After the tour we had som free time where I took some good …

Okay, time I updated. Been hard to find a computer in the south of Italy. Currently, in Bari sitting inside a smelly internet cafe with James after drinking a beer in public. Apparently not the thing to do. New Years was fun, but expensive. We went to a apparently cheap club, which cost €25 entry fee, and €9 for a JDs and coke. Leaving for Rome midnight tonight. Heading for some bars first. No one speaks english here so it is quite difficult, but we are managing. Beautif…

Bari Youth Hostel was tough to find. Well out of town, there was no bus run at the time I arrived on the train, or perhaps there was no bus out to the hostel at all. I rang them anyway and they told me to grab a taxi to bring me out.I shared a room with an old Italian man. He spoke very broken English but we sat and communicated as best we could and he told me he was in his 70s and making his way around the country on his bicycle. He wanted to see as much as he could b…
