Today I woke with the best thought in mind...I would visit all of the markets in town.  Too bad it was Sunday.  After two of the markets were closed I gave up and walked to the Olympic Stadium, which was nice but really just another stadium.  From there I walked up a very high hill to the Castell De Montjuïc.  This was cool.  Inside is the Museu Militar which was cheap and houses a ton of military items.  From there I made my way up the Ramblas and saw some stre…

During the day we took a gondola to the park, saw the Olympic stadium, went to the mall by the sea and I bought a necklace.When we got to the train station, there were 800 people waiting in line for the train, and we were told there was no way to leave Barcelona by train that night. We went to the bus station and found a bus to Salamanca.The bus ride was surprisingly comfortable, and it felt good to arrive in a city I was very familiar with.

...Seriously, 4 days in Barcelona just isn't enough.  i could have stayed for weeks.  I spent a lot of time wandering through la ramblas just taking in the sights, sounds, smells of it all.  there are great little shops, fab cafes and pubs lots of people watching and no shortage of entertainment.  My hostel was great, I stayed at "Kabul".  The rooms were clean, and well maintained, the common area was lively, the beer was cheap and two free meals a day were server…

My last entry as my Spanish trip draws to a close, ends at the city of Barcelona. A few hours northeast of Valencia is the bustling city of Barcelona. Right when I got off the propeller plane (which, please note, is pretty nerve racking) I knew Barcelona was going to be good times. It's a city that has a little bit of everything. Our first experience here was when we sat on the outdoor dining area of a restaurant in Barceloneta and were mobbed by a group of Italians. Gotta love em. Barcelona is full of hot girls on the beach, a bunch of young people. You can feel the atmosphere right when you get to Barcelona. My most enjoyable visit in Europe was in Spain. I guess its because I could actually speak the language and because the sites reminded me of what older parts of Puerto Rico look like (ie Old San Juan). Its almost nostalgic in a sense..... From what I understand my great grandfather was originally from Barcelona... Well... It was one of the best trips ever! Thanks Heidi, my dear cousin! I'm in love with Barcelona...the architecture, the atmosphere, the parties, the food and everything. We walked around so much that my feet still hurt :D

After a semester studying abroad, I went around a few countries, where I had contacts to stay with for free. It was a great month and a half and I went to places I hadn't heard of before my visits.

This summer I went to Barcelona for a couple of weeks to study Spanish. I've lived there with a Spanish family. It was one big adverture!

It was such a beautiful day when we arrived in Barcelona - beautiful blue skies, vibrant city and fantastic ocean views from the hotel room :D We did get a bit lost on the way to the hotel from the airport though. We took the Metro from Placa de Catalunya, but the nearest Metro station to our hotel was a 15 minute walk. We should have taken the #41 bus instead, it stops right outside the hotel. But we got there in the end!
