I highly recommend Barcelona zoo! It had every animal you would wish to see. It was a great day out and not too expensive.

The animals has great enclosures, so you could see them clearly and take good photographs. A real must if visiting the city. It is also very close to transport, i got there by undergroud which was very easy to use.

The zoo here is wonderful. It costs €14.50 to get in but the experience is well worth the cost. They have animals from many locations and each exhibit can be seen from many angles so you can almost always find and see the animal. Additionally each animal has a description about it written in catalan, castillian, and usually english. They also have seals, and dolphins, as well as a dolphin show that is done in catalan. The zoo has additional exhibits about gorillas, reptiles, birds, and more. Today they have a travelling exhibit about exotic animals from the rain forest including multi-colored reptiles, frogs, etc. There are numerous shade trees and places to rest. Additionally, for the children, there is a place to ride ponies. Even if you do not know spanish you will find this zoo to be informative, educational, and a good value for the cost.

The best way to get there is by metro, just get off at the Ciutadella stop.
