Great value Hostel in central location Oct 23, 2013
Situated as it is within a block of flats, fronted by a grill-iron front door, and flanked by two rundown looking restaurants, this Hostel doesn't perhaps create the most auspicious of first impressions.
But once you step inside, you'll step in to a truly outstanding Hostel. This has to be one of the cleanest Hostels I've ever stayed in: the marble steps are always immaculate, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless. One little touch I liked was the little bedside shelf each dorm bed has on the wall alongside to put your toiletries, bedside book, or whatever you wanted to put there!
The lounge/reception area is small, but cosy, with comfortable sofas, three computers with super fast Internet and a pretty outdoor balcony garlanded with attractive plants. The kitchen is a bit on the cramped side, but this is more than made up for by the complimentary tea and coffee on offer 24 hours a day.
In such an expensive city, the room rates are an absolute bargain. The atmosphere is great, and suitable for those who want to socialise as well as those who want peace and quiet. It's not a party hostel, but there are opportunities to socialise aplenty, ranging from walking tours to tapas nights.
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and will go out of their way to help you (they helped me book a ticket online for La Sagrada Familia so I could skip the queues). They help make this one of the best Hostels I've stayed in: highly recommended.

Amazing hostel nearby most attractions Aug 22, 2011
This has been one of my favorite hostels in Western Europe. It was super clean, the staff was extremely helpful and nice, the people that stayed with me were quality travelers, and the location was golden. The hostel offers activities like tapas night, flamenco night, amongst others and they also give you a very helpful and easy to read map of the city (unlike the one at the TI office). When they check you in, they also tell you how to get places and the most recommended sights. Also, they keep lots of travel guides of Barcelona in the common room. They don't like crazy parties inside, but when they have an activity night (every night except Sundays), it gets super social, friendly, and loud. I couldn't have found a better hostel or better travelers to share my Barcelona experience with.
