An ideal way to see everything Barcelona has to offer Jun 06, 2012
I don't think you can get a realistic idea as to how huge this city is until you actually get there. After realising this we thought that the hop on/off bus would be the ideal way to see everything that Barcelona has to offer and if anything took our immediate attention we could get off and have a look or head back to the place by ourselves later on in our visit.

Prices for adults are 24 euros for one day or 31 euros for two consecutive days

Prices for children (4-12year) 14 euros for one day or 18 euros for two consecutive days.

Children 3 years and under are free.

We opted for the two day consecutive ticket and boarded the bus for the blue route first outside the Sagrada Familia. Ear phones are provided, together with an information booklet and a small book of discount vouchers for various attractions and eateries throughout the city. So make sure you browse through your discount vouchers before paying admission prices into attractions.

The blue route takes you to the following venues:

Placa de Catalunya (main terminus)

Casa Batllo

La Pedrera (Casa Mila)

Sagrada Familia

Park Guell

Tibidabo - (amusement park at the top of the hill etc)

Monestir de Pedralbes (Gothic Monestry)

Palau Reial (Royal palace)

Nou Camp stadium

Francesc Macia

The buses run regularly throughout the day, and on each bus stop the time of the last bus of the day is given together with the frequency of the bus - the majority of them were every 5 - 10 minutes. On the blue route we found the bus was the most busy at Placa de Catalunya (as this is the main terminus for both the blue and red routes,) Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and the Nou Camp stadium.

We had anticipated to take a day for each route but given that the blue route is not as long as the red route we had seen more or less everything on the blue route by mid afternoon, so decided to hop on the red route back at La Pedrera (Casa Mila)

The red route take you to the following venues:

Placa de Catalunya (main terminus)

Casa Batllo

La Pedrera (Casa Mila)

Francesc Macia

Estacio de Sants

Creu Coberta

Placa d'Espanya Caixa Forum Pavello Mies Van der Rohe

Poble Espanyol

Anella Olimpica

Fundacio Joan Miro

Teleferic de Montjuic

Miramar-Jardins Costa i Llobera

World Trade Centre

Colom-Maritime Museum

Port vell

Museu d'Historia de Catalunya

Port Olympic (also terminus to board the green route)

Par de la Ciutadella-Zoo

Pla de palau

Barri Gotic

Platja del Bogatell

On the red route, the stops that we found more busy were: Creu Coberta, Placa d'Espanya, MNAC, Anella Olimpica, Colom/Maritime Museum

We did not ride the green route which is a very short route along the Port Olimpic area and along the beach.

Well worth buying the two day pass as we used the buses continually for the two days.
All aboard the bus =)
Great architecture

A Great Way to Get to Know Barcelona Nov 24, 2011
I am not one for hop on and hop off bus tours, but I was quite surprised with the Barcelona Bus Turistic. With 3 separate lines (red, blue and green) this tour gives you a very comprehensive tour of Barcelona.

Stop are conveniently located throughout the city. Buses run about every 10 to 15 minutes (this maybe longer depending on the season). Stops are easily identified with the Barcelona Bus Touristic sign indicating the stop so you know where you are on your map provided. The buses are 2 level with the top level being open. The open top level is great considering the incredible Barcelona weather.

We purchased a 2 day ticket upon our arrival in Barcelona. I would recommend this as we were unfamiliar with the city and this gave us a great introduction. You can get on and off whenever and wherever you want and as many times as you want. So you can get off and see the things you want or make notes of the sites and attractions you want to go back and visit.

On our first day, we choose to get off at the Olympic Stadium area. From here we could take in the Olympic sites as well as the Montjuic area.

After re-boarding, we continued around the city, making notes of places we wanted to come back and see later in our trip.

The cost is relatively inexpensive, since our ticket was good for 2 days and we could get on and off as much as needed.

Earphones are included and audio is available in all of the most used languages, including Russian, which was interesting to listen to.

If you are in Barcelona for an extended stay, I would recommend this to help plan your activities for your visit. If you only have a couple of days, Barcelona Bus Touristic is the best way to get the most out of your visit.

Barcelona Bus TURISTIC! Oct 02, 2008
The Barcelona Bus Turistic is a double decker bus system running on 3 routes - Northern (red), Southern (blue) & Fòrum (green) - with a lot of stops.

You can chose yourself which line you want to get on and the best thing is you can get off the bus as many times as you want and at every stop, get back on and change routes. Each route takes about 1,5 - 2 hours.

The prices are €20 for 1 day and €26 for two days in a row for adults and the kids have a discount.

What makes this so perfect to me is that you don't longer have to search for the sight-seeings you want to go to ; you just get on and off the bus.

At first I thought it was quite expensive but if you compare it to where it takes you without any troubles (well except for a couple of traffic light that keep being red) it's a lot faster, easier and more enjoyable since going with the subway doesn't let you enjoy the environment.

I took a pic of Dunkin Donuts while I was there too. I got a few as well. My friend doesn't speak Spanish but he was like "uno donut chocolate por favor".
