Barceló Costa Ballena Hotel Rota (Spain)

Amazing hotel! It’s located on an 18-hole golf course and just a few hundred yards from the ocean!

The hotel is conveniently located near great nightlife to include gentlemen’s clubs, bars and dance clubs. It’s also located near a bunch of great Spanish restaurants, beaches and outlet stores. I wasn’t really looking for malls or shopping complexes but I do recall seeing a few of them around the area.

There’s a great buffet on the first floor in the main lobby building. They offer a lot of different types of food but mostly European. There’s a great bar on the same floor. In addition to a great selection of alcohols, I think they also serve finger foods. There’s a little convenient store on the first floor that sells tourist items and basic necessities. There’s also a nice pool on the premises. There’s a wet bar attached but it wasn’t always manned.

My room was very comfortable. I had a view of the golf course and the ocean from my second story balcony. It was very refreshing to wake up with a cool sea breeze blowing through my room. The hotel is gated and features key card entry doors so it’s a pretty safe place.

Great place overall and definitely worth the money!
