The old city walls Jul 22, 2008
The old city walls and barbakan gate used to defend the old Warsaw from enemies. It took two centuries to finish these walls, towers and gates. The oldest one, Barbakane, is still standing and was build around 1550. Inside there is a chapel. The bridge at barbakane unites the old and new part of Warsaw and is a favorite place for young people to hang out.
