Boy, oh boy. I stumbled across this tiny place after reading a quick three-line review in the Rough Guide. If you're into some good, cheap, tapas, this is your place. The house specialty seems to be roasted sardines. They're fresh and come out hot in a plate of four. Wash it down with some wine from the cask - there's a blanco, a rosado and a tinto at very good prices as well.

It seems like mostly a locals-only type place. So please, if you do end up there, don't bring a group of sixteen and get all rowdy. And know enough Spanish to order, because English isn't going to get you very far.

Definitely my favorite tapas place in the city.

Tired of 'fashion' bars? Of insipid 'tapas' that let your stomach as empty as your wallet? If you are looking for a real bar, with the same dishes (anchovies, sausage tomato salad with onions, anchovies and olives and fried sardines) than when it was founded 60 years ago, where you can enjoy an exceptional wine, do not hesitate.
Really awesome and familiar place, with a nice mix of foreigners and lifelong parishioners
