Bar El Federal Reviews

Jun 25, 2006
This is a place we stumbled upon because it was less than a block from our hostel in San Telmo, Buenos Aires. We could not have been any luckier. This was easily my favorite restaurant in all of Buenos Aires. Bar El Federal place looks like it hasn't changed at all in the 100+ years that it has sat on the corner of Peru and Carlos Calvo. Within that beautiful old setting, they serve some classic Porteño dishes at a great price. Their meats were delicious and so were their deserts . . . and I don't even eat desert. It is without a doubt the place to enjoy a great dinner if you ever find yourself in this terrific neighborhood.
