A perfect place for a skiing holiday for beginners and intermediates. Bansko offers some good runs, very new lifts and gondola. Prices are expensive in comparison to the rest of Bulgaria, but certainly cheaper than a skiing holiday in Western Europe! Bansko also holds the biathlon tournament there.

One half of Bansko is like France in mid ski season, the other like post war Bosnia. The skiing is excellent; short runs in the sun mean you're quickly down to get a cold beer and sit back on a deck chair in the sun! Prices creeping up by the lifts but back in the old town, the food, beer and hospitality are great, with prices to match. Perfect location for a few chilled days or a week of 'Laddish' action! Watch out for the Russians!!!
