Banos Mirador area is the new bridge that crosses Rio Pastaza. I have never seen cars passing over that bridge but they are not prohibited from doing so (at least I did not see it). I think that bridge is there in the case of emergency so that people can run away on the other side of the canyon. By spanning that canyon, bridge become the nicest viewpoint of the city on the cliff and many small creeks that make dreamy, almost not real waterfalls. Canyon is simply spectacular, with really wild water going over sparkling stones (mostly mica stone). If you were allowed to raft around here, it would be category 5-6 which is very deadly affair… Bridge is the setting area for bungee jumping. Actually they do not do bungee jumping, but some kind of swinging rope jump. It is not so cool, but it is very cheap.
