Hot springs in North Bali Apr 03, 2007
You don't need a skin disease or my old bones to enjoy these Hot Springs situated in the middle of the"jungle" of North Bali,South West of Lovina,24 km from Singaraya, set in a lush tropical garden, not touristy on weekdays.
For going there from Lovina, drive the Jalan Seririt during 6 km,then turn left and drive 2 km to the Banjar Tegal Market, one more left 50 m after the market and follow the road to the end. From the car park, walk 300 m on the walkway with shops selling drinks,sarongs... beside and you reach the Holy hot springs. The bathing area consists of 3 pools of sulphuric and hot(38°C)water of volcanic origin. The first pool is fed by 8 carved stone Naga and overflows in the larger second pool. In the third pool, the water comes from 3m high spouts and you can have there a kind of massage. In this beautifully landscaped pools, you must wear a swimsuit and you are not allowed to use soap. There are showers, cabins and a restaurant with quite cheap local food(we ate there). The Buddhist Temple of Bali is 10 minute walk. |
