The Palm Garden Hotel in Pattaya wanted 1300 Baht ($43) for a taxi to the Bangkok airport but I arranged one down the street for 800 ($26). The ride took an hour and a quarter and picked me up at the hotel to deliver me to the China Airlines check-in counter. No more busses.
As on …

Starting off at work is always the worst way to begin travelling. I'd rather get up in the middle of the night and do that half awake, last minute packing exercise where you check you've got your passport and flight tickets at least 10 times, stumble out of the house and r…

Robert Louis Stevenson:I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.
My friend, Philip and I went to Bangkok in 2006 in one of those spur of the moment decisions. No planning, no research whatsoever. It was just a conversation of, 'got passport a…

LAst Day in Bangkok before Angkor WatToday was cultural day in Bangkok. Went with Ach to the presidential palace. Yea, apparently you need to wear long pants to see the emerald Buddha. One of the things you have to see for yourself is the Golden or Royal Palace. That's what they told us when we came to Thailand for the first time. But we did ignore this tip, because we thought it was one big commercial thing, just for tourist. So we skiped the palace and went home without seeing …

I've been in Thailand three times, every time I start off with a couple of days in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand (for those of you who lack geographical knowledge ^^ ). I've stayed at Bel-Air Princess twice, (03- and -05), I stayed at the Ambassador in 2004 but I would rather recommend…

So the title gave it away! I look at my ticket and it says 1:04a when I
think it says 10:04a. I go to the desk and I realized in a moment with
my 100 pounds of luggage that I missed my flight!
If
this was America, there would be a $150 charge to fix it all....but I'm
in Thailand and Thai Ai…

This country is a must visit for any traveler. The locals are friendly and very helpful. And the Thai massage is the bomb! There are great bargains for shoppers in Bangkok. Just take in the various cultural shows and a James Bond river ride to the floating markets and shop til you drop! Dont be afraid to sample the local cuisines at various restaurants.
When visiting just have fun and take in the culture that Thailand has to offer.
