Tonight after dinner I got ice cream from a place called Amaltery. They serve what they call adult ice cream, meaning that most of their flavors have a 5% alcohol content. All of the flavors are named after the cocktail that the ice cream is flavored like. They have a wide assortment everything from Brandy Alexander, to Mohito, to White Russian. I tried a couple flavors and must say it was pretty good.
After the alcoholic ice cream, I went to see the Bourne Ultimatum ...

Day 5 : rainCouldn't sleep well last night. Guessing it's because I slept too much yesterday.. Plus my back's sunburnt.. Woke up like 7am. Watched movies again from the morning. It's raining outside with the thunder. Rain today, again.. What a day.. :-(Packed, had buffet breakfast, checked out and waited for someone to share a taxi back to the pier. Was raining and I don't see anyone leaving this island that morning. I had to pay 100 if there's no one to share but I didn't want to wait under ...

Before I start let me say something about myself: I'm one of those guys that can detect the most subtle differences but I never see something obvious. Read this entry and you will know why I'm saying this.
This morning I wake up a little bit late, knock at Dani's and Kim's rooms, they are here! Yesterday I lost them, he he. Continental Breakfast! There's a week that I didn't have one.
GRAND PALACE, WAT ARUN, WAT PO!
Kim wakes up too late, Dani prefers to stay at ...

After arriving in Bangkok after our 12 hour train ride from Surrathani, we were wrecked. The train journey was just like the last trip, noisy rattly, and not that much sleep. Well we got a little more sleep than we thought we would, but that might be down to the fact that we both had 2 big bottles of Singha in us! The attendant on the train must of been trying to get Caroline drunk or something because every time he passed he was trying to open up 2 more beers for us.
We arrived into...

Boarding a cruise ship is not as easy as it looks on the Love Boat. Since this is my first cruise, and since I was an avid watcher of the Love Boat and since we are sailing Princess Cruises, all of my references are to the show!
We do not have a bartender named Isaac. :)
From Bangkok we had to get to the port of Laem Chabang, which is 2 hours away. We took the shuttle and enjoyed seeing some of the Thai countryside. Once at the port it was total chaos. Even though boarding begins at 11 and ...

As others have mentioned before, it´s hard to describe, what the meet-up was like! So I will just try to write an introduction and let the pics tell the story of the meet up itself.
I took the Sky Train from Chong Nonsi to National Stadium about 75 minutes before we wanted to meet on Khaosan Road. On National Stadium BTS-Station, a group of young people of different origins, talking English came to my attention, some of them have already been on my Skytrain...I didn´t recognize any of...

I was going to meet my friend Mirko as soon as we landed so I got my phone and called him up, searched every waiting area on every floor until I found him. No, scratch that. Luckily he found me even if I was at the wrong floor. Was this an indication that something’s gonna go wrong today? Well, hang in there and wait...I went with Mirko to Sukhumvit, Wayne went to Khaosarn alone but we agreed to meet each other for a drinking session right after dinner. ;) We introduced Mirko to the Khaosan...

We had the morning free so Jade and I hit the Chatuchak Market for some shopping. As anyone who's been to Thailand knows, the Thais are a lovely bunch of skinny, happy, smiley, friendly people. If only their English were a wee bit more polished. It really was getting frustrating for both Jade and I, especially whenever we'd hop into a cab. Their language is tonal, and they use the same fords for say "yes" and "no" and the only way to distinguish their meaning is through their intonation. So w...

Today’s mission was to visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market, a place where 8,000 or 15,000 vendors (depending on if you believe Fodor’s or Lonely Planet) set up to sell their wares every Saturday and Sunday. You can buy everything from rubber bands to furniture to artwork to chickens.
We set off early but still didn’t manage to beat the heat. Our first stop was the post office to mail some items back home. It wasn’t that far, but we were both hot and sticky by the time we arri...

Wat Phichaiyat is a second class royal temple situated in Khlongsan District. It had been an abandoned temple before the reconstruction in 1841 by Chao Phraya Phichaiyat (That Bunnak) in order to present to King Rama III as a royal temple. In relation to Chao Phraya Phichaiyat’s international business, he imported construction materials mainly from China by various ships of his own. Hence, the temple was built in Chinese design.

On my last day, I wanted to meet up with Stephanie for free breakfast, which was her reason to choose the hostel, but she had forgotten to attend every morning…and she also missed her last chance to take advantage of it, as she woke up too late! So, we met at about 11 am and started “serious shopping” in one of the malls and Khaosan Road, where we had to rent a bunk in a hostel to get rid of our bags! We carried them already with us, because the bus to the airport leaves from Khaosan Ro...
