Bangkok Shopping Reviews
Jul 22, 2006Hello, It all depends on what you want really. I would recommend visitng the Chatuchack weekend market (open on Friday (only some vendors opened though) and Saturday and Sunday all vendors are opened). The earlier you go the better. It is an outdoor market so dress accordingly for the weather and make sure to drink LOTS of water. It's huge also so plan to spend some time exploring the place. If you want some good leathe "knock-off" purses I suggest narayapan. You take the BTS to Chit Lom and should be able to get directions from there. Two high end shopping malls are Siam Paragon and Emporium. Paragon is fairly new and has a great IMAX theatre. Both places have shopping stores like Gucci, Dior, etc. Great place to people watch. Both places also have a great food court and Paragon has an aquarium. MBK is also great for shopping. Take the BTS to National Stadium. It's like a 6 story tall building with an air conditioned market inside. You can bargain with some of the shops here. Use your discretion but it's pretty easy to tell where you can and can't bargain. This is a great place to get DVDs. There are also markets around town from 1100 - 1400 called lunch markets. The two that I know of are near Sukhumvit Soi 1 and there is also one on Soi Lang Suan. If you have any other questions or want further info on the above please feel free to send me a message. Good Luck!! Bangkok is a shoppers paradise!! |

The stalls varied, there were artisans with fantastic shops filled with wood carvings and material and then there were shops with food for sale, busily frying up vegetables and rice. But it was here I came across a music shop. I’d wanted to buy a small guitar in Bangkok but I’d been… Thailand 2007 |

So off we started at Central Chitlom, then off to Robinsons, Paragon (my absolute favourite), Zen World and we shopped and ate and shopped and ate. Our feet were aching at the end of the day - in need of a foot massage - and bugger me, there was a massage place just minutes on the way back to our hotel!!! Taking a well… Shopping Take I - Two Days in Bangkok - December 26 & December 27 |

There are air-conditioned shopping malls in Rama 1 road, the vast Chatuchak Weekend Market (where
you really need a map just to shop. It’s sooo big, you can find
anything here - from shoes and plants to antiques and fishing
equipment); specialty shops and cafes in the business… Bangkok Confidential, Part 2: I Heart Books, Boots and Bamboo |

Today was our day for serious power shopping and food. I had one full day of shopping lined up before I left on my trip to Siem Reap. The day got off to a good start as I was able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. This… Shop Till You Drop... |
