Bangkok Airport (Suvannaphum Airport)
Bangkok Airport (Suvannaphum Airport) Reviews
Dec 04, 2007
For anyone who do not familiar with the New Bangkok airport (Suvannaphum Airport). Currently, the Mass transit system is not yet connected to the airport (you can see them working on the sky train to the airport at the moment) so you have to take the taxi or buses from the airport.
Taxi is simple enough because there is a taxi stand just in front of the airport. You must pay a extra surcharge of 50 bahts on to of the meter fee for taxi from the air port. Buses is a difference story, you must get to the bus terminal first by free shuttle bus from in front of the airport. There in the bus station there is a bus to go anywhere in Bangkok, there is a help desk to guild you to correct bus. In the bus terminal you also can find buses going to other province but the frequency of buses to provincial is not as many as the main bus terminal but you can check the time table and book your ticket. If you find the food inside the airport is expensive, then I suggest you to come and have some food here at the bus terminal. As buses is the main transportation for all the staffs working in the airport, there are a few shop here inside the bus terminal and the price is much more reasonable. By the way, the Suvanaphum airport like many airport now in the world do not allow to have liquid carry on, so make sure that you have your cream seal with a plastic seal. Sometime, you can ask for a seal plastic bag from the airport but it is not garantee. Part of the Sri Lanka - Bangkok 2007 to 2009 travel blog |
